Quick setup

Save the app to your phone in 60 seconds.

The Recipe Club is a web app, not an App Store download. Save it to your homescreen once and it works exactly like a normal app from then on.

Works like a real app

Full screen, no browser bars. Looks and feels native.

One tap away

No more hunting for a browser tab when dinner needs sorting.

No App Store needed

No downloads, no updates, no faff. Just save and go.

iPhone or iPad

Add to Home Screen on iOS

1

Open the app in Safari

This bit matters. Safari is the only browser on iPhone that supports adding to homescreen, not Chrome or any other.

2

Tap the share icon

It's the square with an upward arrow at the bottom of the screen (or top right on iPad).

3

Scroll down, tap "Add to Home Screen"

You might need to scroll past a few options. The icon looks like a plus sign in a square.

4

Tap "Add" in the top right

The Recipe Club icon appears on your homescreen. Tap it any time, like a normal app. You're done.

Android

Add to Home Screen on Android

1

Open the app in Chrome

Chrome works best for this. Samsung Internet also works, but Chrome is the simplest.

2

Tap the three-dot menu

Top right corner of Chrome. Three little dots stacked vertically.

3

Tap "Add to Home screen"

You might also see "Install app" depending on your Android version. Either works.

4

Tap "Add" or "Install"

Chrome confirms it. The Recipe Club icon lands on your homescreen. Tap to open, just like any other app.

That's it, you're sorted

Now it lives on your phone.

Tap the icon any time. No browser bars, no logging back in. Just open, pick a recipe, get cooking.

Stuck?

Common questions

I don't see "Add to Home Screen" anywhere

On iPhone you have to be in Safari, not Chrome or any other browser. On Android, make sure you're in Chrome or Samsung Internet. If you're using a different browser, switch to one of those first.

It says my email isn't recognised

Two reasons this usually happens. One, you're logging in with a different email than the one you paid with. Two, the app doesn't accept custom work or business domain emails (like you@yourcompany.com); only personal email like Gmail, Hotmail, Yahoo, iCloud. If that's the issue, email hayley@therecipeclub.co.uk and we'll swap your account over.

Why isn't it in the App Store?

App Store apps are slow to update, expensive to maintain, and Apple takes a cut. Web apps update instantly, work across every device, and cost nothing extra. Once it's on your homescreen, you genuinely can't tell the difference.

Do I need to keep my browser open?

Nope. Once it's saved, it opens in its own window like any normal app. Browser closed, tabs cleared, doesn't matter.
